SalaryPosition Title: Project Coordinator/Controls Specialist (Fly-In/Fly-Out Operation)
Salary Range: $50/hr-$56/hr + OT
About the Client and Role
We are on the hunt for a Project Coordinator/Project Controls Specialist for site deployment at a busy mine in the far north. This position is an open-ended contract role whichmay also convert to permanent. This position is based at site on a 3x3 rotation, flights provided, camp accommodations, and pays $50-$56/hr plus OT after 8 hours per day (12 hour days). Vaccination against COVID-19 is required for this site.
Main Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement cost and schedule control tools that efficiently report project progress and status
- Perform analysis and prepare reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters
- Plan, execute, monitor and control projects to maintain schedule, budget, and service quality
- Responsible for Purchase Order and Change Order tracking and trending, invoice validation and budget analyses
- Facilitate recovery of project costs based on the identification of financial irregularities, billing errors and cost variances
- Responsible for validating project data and issuing management reports to be used as a basis for high-level project decisions
- Managed and processed subcontractor time and expenses, invoices for payment and financial data.
- Work with the PM staff to ensure that timelines and/or objectives of the project are met
- Prepare daily labor, equipment, and material (LEM) report for construction field work
- Conduct material pricing and purchasing, shop for vendors, request and review vendor quotes
- Coordinate documentation for subcontractors, vendors and field employees in collaboration with the Site Supervisor
- Coordinate and facilitate weekly progress meetings to discuss on project progress and milestones
- Prepare weekly progress and budget reports for clients and senior staff, showing the project health
- Track and monitor site safety, providing weekly reports to the Safety Manager and Project Managers
Main Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years progressive experience post-graduation, in a Mining, Heavy Industrial, Civil Construction environment.
- Education in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mine Technician, Mechanical Engineering or related an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills; extensive experience with developing and maintaining relationships with a wide range of internal and external groups
- Experience negotiating agreements with vendors/supplies an asset
- Good software abilities in Excel, Projects and/or SAP
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive communication
