Position Summary:

As team leader and supervisor of Cascade Mechanical’s technical team, the
Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the labour and resources required to complete design, contracting, service and maintenance projects in the Bow Valley area. Under the guidance and direction of the Operations Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for the coordination of day-to-day, on-site activities, working alongside the crew as a collaborative team leader providing mentorship and training to encourage team development and promote a positive, productive work environment. Bringing to the role a depth of hands on experience in mechanical contracting and service, the Project Manager will have a demonstrated ability to lead by example, with strong work ethic and be capable of quickly earning the respect of the technical team.

Position Duties / Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, cost & quality control and completion of projects, ensuring consistency with Cascade’s strategy, commitments and goals
• Provide hands-on leadership, working alongside technicians to ensure proper methods and procedures are used and that time standards, quality and safety standards are consistently met or exceeded
• Manage client maintenance and business development; overseeing all aspects of the job including quotation, contract review and invoicing
• Develop project instructions and schedule appropriate technicians to ensure that work is completed to the scope of the project and to both Cascade’s standards and he client’s satisfaction
• Approve project designs, work plans and requisitioning of job materials for project requirements
• Provide leadership and motivation to Cascade’s team of technicians, encouraging a positive and cohesive workplace that promotes respect, encourages professional development and collaboration, and prioritizes safety
• Provide supervision and constructive feedback to technical team, completing timely and fair employee performance evaluations for crew personnel and executing corrective action as needed in accordance with Cascade’s procedures
• Plan and conduct training and new hire orientation relevant to technical team tasks and projects in accordance with Cascade’s Safety and HR policies and procedures
• Provide ongoing and as-required training, developing staff to reach their maximum potential in order to create an effective, efficient and motivated team
• Maintain and ensure proper use and assignment of Cascade’s equipment, vehicles, property, and assets
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities, ensuring consistent client maintenance from a technical and social standpoint to maximize business growth with current and potential clients
• Represent Cascade in a positive and professional manner to all clients and internal and external stakeholders
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by management to ensure Cascade’s goals and objectives are met

Experience and Qualifications:

• Red Seal Journeyperson certificate in a mechanical trade from a Canadian technical institution is required
• PMP Certification is considered an asset
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Supervisor / Project Manager role managing large scale mechanical construction and maintenance projects is required
• Experience with Procore construction management software is considered an asset
• Professional qualities in attitude, composure and the ability to self-manage with proven initiative and client focus
• Strong leadership, organizational and time management capabilities
• Demonstrated experience successfully managing, supervising and mentoring a team of technicians
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Company focused attitude and motivated personality committed to driving performance and business growth
• Ability to make decisions quickly on available information, exercising proper judgement of the issues and taking action in a timely manner keeping safety and respect top of mind
• Ability to communicate and interact with others in a positive and constructive manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport in the relationship
• Ability to manage priorities and multi-task while meeting deadlines
• Ability to deliver and act in a consistent and trustworthy manner

Additional Information / Requirements:

• Ability to reliably commute to Canmore, Alberta or relocate
• Experience working in variable weather conditions including outdoors year round
