What is the opportunity?
We are looking for candidates to fill a new permanent role in our IT team. Reporting to the Delivery and Support Manager, you will be managing and leading multiple various sized, enterprise level projects, with focus related to our in-house Portal and other applications. Following Project lifecycle framework and Scrum methodologies you will lead a project team from inception to close, successfully delivering and meeting the project scope/requirements to meet its objectives and goals. The Project Manager will support this through communicating, and interacting with Project Steering Committee, Project sponsors, stakeholders, and project team members. Additionally, be instrumental in the planning and coordination of deliverables and supporting this with developing key artifacts (ie Project Charter, Project Plan/Schedule etc) This is a remote role that can be based out of Calgary, AB or Langley, BC, with occasional in-office attendance for meetings and retrospectives. Other Canadian locations can be considered.
What will you do?
- Follow Project and Software Development Life Cycle
- Apply scrum/agile methodologies to projects, working with DevOps team to schedule User Stories in sprint iterations for successful delivery.
- Lead and participate in Scope definition, goals and objective and key deliverable identification.
- Develop documentation to support the success of the project such as Project Charter, Project Plan and Schedules (WBS), Project updates, RAID log etc.
- Contribute to Identifying, documenting, elicitation and overseeing project risks.
- Point of escalation and identifying and address roadblocks
- Manage change requests understanding and identifying impact to scope, timeline and costs.
- Work closely with the development team to define issues and resolutions.
- Participate and contribute to retrospectives and process improvements.
What do you need to succeed?
- 5 + years of proven experience in leading and managing Enterprise level projects, in a cross functional organization.
- Software development projects and application implementations an asset.
- Demonstrated understanding of Project Management Institute (PMI) framework and standards, in addition to knowledge of Scrum Agile software development practices.
- Strong communication with influential and conflict resolution skills.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment while bringing new ideas and best practices into the business.
- Ability to multi-task across competing priorities.
- Team player.
- Detailed orientated.
- Insurance experience is an asset but not required.
