Job Description:
The Lake Louise Ski Resort is looking for an experienced Project Manager to be part of the exciting re-development of our world class mountain resort as part of the implementation of its recently approved Long Range Plan. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations & Long-Range Planning, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing various resort construction projects that range from building construction, utilities installation and ski lift installation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, consultants and contractors to ensure the successful delivery of projects, from concept to completion with a focus on design, budgeting and scheduling.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage engineering projects from initiation to project closeout, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, operations, design, manufacturing, suppliers and contractors, to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, scope of works and work plans.
- Assist construction manager in establishing project objectives, procedures, and procurement.
- Review and manage contract documents to ensure clear understanding of deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate risks, and resolve issues that may impact project timelines and deliverables.
- Prepare and review all construction reports; cost, forecasts and plans to mitigate potential risks.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders including the, senior management, project team, operational departments, suppliers and contractors.
- Monitor contractor progress, supplier scheduling and coordinate pricing and progress claims.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the project team.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental requirements and coordination of construction activities with Parks Canada
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Certified Engineering Technologist
- 10-15 years’ experience as a Project Manager in a construction environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to manager project budgets and create and schedule a project
- Proficiency in project management tools and software. Design experience with AutoCAD an asset.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. This position will require strong written skills in English to assist in the development of project proposals for Parks Canada.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
