Celebrating 50 years, Accredited Supports to the Community (ASC) is a not-for-profit charitable society
that provides services across south-central Alberta for children, youth, and adults with developmental
disabilities. ASC is seeking a motivated, professional, and experienced individual to fill the role of
Building and Property Maintenance Technician.
Do you have experience and knowledge with interior and exterior residential and small professional
building maintenance and repair? Do you have interpersonal skills, safety practices, and the ability to
work around safely around others?
Under the support of the supervising team, this role primarily entails maintaining ASC Bottle Depot,
office and residential buildings and grounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Minimal administrative duties with some computer use, in a fast-paced and rewarding work environment.
Working at multiple sites is required for maintenance and repairs performed within your scope of
expertise. Multi-tasking site visits with external contractors, vendors, ASC Health and Safety Specialist,
and ASC professionals, is essential to this role. This is not an on-call position however the successful
candidate must be flexible for possible on-site emergencies and/or phone consultations, and to perform
snow removal as necessary for multiple sites.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor, document, and report exterior and interior wear for upcoming repair for various sites
- Identify, document, and complete repairs and maintenance in an efficient and timely manner
- Maintain maintenance logs detailing and recording work completion, materials, and purchase orders
- Seasonal clean-up and maintenance of yards and green spaces (regular lawn care)
- Seasonal garden maintenance
- Inclement weather maintenance (snow removal, flood issues, parking lot care)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Experience or knowledge with small equipment operation (snow blower, power tools, lawn and yard
care implements)
- Energetic and physically able to meet the demands of this position
- Self-motivated team player who can self-direct and act with independence while working within your
scope of practice
- Ability to organize and implement solutions for repair and maintenance in safe and hazard free work
zones
- Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Records Check
- Must have a valid class 5 driver's licence, use a personal vehicle for work purposes, and carry a
minimum $2 million liability insurance
