Purchasing Assistant

The Opportunity

We are embarking on the next phase of our growth and as we continue to expand our business in different categories, we are looking to expand and strengthen our support staff. As the Purchasing Assistant, you will be a key contributor on our team as you assist our brand managers with a variety of tasks.

PROMOTIONAL PLANNING

• Forecasting for upcoming sales and promotions
• Manage marketing calendar for promotions and communicate all promotions internally
• Keep track of vendor/manufacturer ETAs for out of stock products

PURCHASING COMMUNICATION

• Submit PO’s to vendors
• Communicate internally about new products, discontinued items, out of stocks, specials, etc.)
• Communicate and plan brand and product launches with marketing
• Enter and prepare purchase orders to send to vendor
• Ensure vendor costing is accurate and up-to-date
• Organize and prepare vendor files to the Regulatory team
• Communicate any pricing discrepancies to vendor
• Communicate any product damages, shortages or overages to vendor
• Communicate with warehouse team regarding special instructions for products coming in
• Ensure that product that needs to be reworked/repackaged is properly communicated to the warehouse
• 3-way match orders received against vendor invoices

VENDOR COMMUNICATION

• Inform vendors of any product defects or issues
• Enter and prepare vendor return authorizations
• Communicate vendor return information to warehouse for shipment preparation
• Coordinate outbound freight with logistics department
• Request credit from vendor for return authorizations

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Mississauga, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• Purchasing: 1 year (required)
• Sports Nutrition: 1 year (preferred)
