About the Opportunity
Airbus Helicopters Canada is looking to hire a Quality Assurance Composites Inspector to join our team in Fort Erie, O.N., on a full-time basis. This role will require the individual to work a rotating days/afternoons (2:30pm to 11:00pm, with a shift premium) schedule.
Reporting to the Composites Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the inspection of all composite parts and kits. This includes performing assembly/paint, trim, shipping, layup, and core inspections to verify the quality of the parts.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conducting visual inspections, and verifying potting material shelf life
- Verifying that inserts, components, etc. are installed as per drawings
- Conducting visual inspections for improper or insufficient coverage, rough surfaces, and pitting
- Inspecting parts to planned MIDs and inspection documents, drawings, etc.
- Creating and maintaining inspection plans and procedures
- Participating and leading root cause and corrective action processes using Rapid 5 Whys, 8D tools, etc.
- Executing inspections for weekly and daily KPIs for Assembly Inspection Plans
- Serving as a guide to Assembly Technicians by sharing requirements and acceptance criteria for inspections
- Participating in all initial and recurrent training to maintain certifying staff authorities
- Preparing shipping documentation including Form Ones and C of Cs
- Verifying that Material Identification Sheets are complete
- Recording of nonconformities & quarantining non-conforming parts with red tags
- Conducting visual inspection for damage, cell ruptures, and contamination dust /oil
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you must possess a diploma in mechanical engineering/technology, or equivalent related field experience, along with 5+ years of related composite experience (manufacturing/assembly inspection), specifically with a Quality Assurance System (ISO 9001, AS 9100). A combination of education and experience will be considered.
The following skills and experience will be crucial to this role:
- NDT/Ultrasonic Inspection experience is an asset
- Ability to read various blueprints
- Ability to write accurate technical reports
- Ability to use measurement tools
- Bilingualism (French-English or German-English) is an asset
- SAP experience is considered an asset
