As Quality Technician, you will be entrusted with the responsibility to develop, implement, and optimize quality programs. Your role extends beyond inspection, encompassing the ability to proactively identify and rectify potential issues. You have strong analytical skills, critical thinking, decision-making, and a commitment to continuous improvement that helps to enhance our overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. By diligently identifying and mitigating risks, conducting thorough inspections, and collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams, the Quality Technician contributes to ensuring that our workplace stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence.

Location: DELTA, BC - On-site full-time in pre-fab facility
Education & Qualifications, Required:
- Post Secondary Education in a related field, along with on-the-job work experience in a manufacturing setting
- Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or similar certifications recognized by the American Society for Quality (ASQ)
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow/ Green belt.
Skills & Experience, Required:
- 1 to 2 years of previous hands-on experience in QA/QC inspection
- Proven ability to coach and influence
- Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in quality and safety documentation.
- Good knowledge of math
- Familiar with measurement tools and devices (tape measure, caliper, scale, moisture meter, etc)
- Knowledge of the Imperial and Metric system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
Nice to Haves:
- Experience working in an ISO environment.
- Experience with Ishikawa, 8D reports
- Training and education on Quality Assurance processes and Lean Manufacturing processes
- Experience with prefabrication in timber construction
- Experience in advanced automated or robotic manufacturing
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles, process design, and continuous improvement methodologies
The Role & Responsibilities - Quality Technician:
- Assist in developing quality Manual.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to cultivate a quality awareness and continuous improvement culture.
- Collaborate with production to ensure incoming materials and outgoing products meet industry and customer specifications.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) with production teams.
- Audit the production line for compliance with established quality requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain documentation of quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for streamlined processes and maintaining quality standards.
- Assist in gathering and maintaining QA/QC data and perform statistical analysis and reports to identify underlying trends
- Evaluate and monitor the quality of materials and components received from suppliers.
- Assist the supply chain team with supplier corrective action requests (SCAR)
- Provide training to production personnel on quality standards, inspection methods, and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to relay quality-related information promptly.
- Conduct daily quality inspections using approved standards and procedures.
- Train production personnel on proper inspection and testing procedures.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports for effective communication.
- Collaborate with production teams to address and resolve real-time quality issues.
- Document and report non-conformities, defects, and deviations from quality standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
- Inspect raw materials, components, and finished products for compliance with quality standards.
- Drive initiatives to reduce waste, minimize environmental impact, and stay updated on industry trends and best practices for competitiveness and innovation.
- Comply with the company's administrative policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested that are consistent with your abilities and responsibilities.
