POSITION SUMMARY
This position is for the front desk administration. This is the first point of contact for the Centre and directing people as needed. The incumbent will be answering in-person inquiries, phone calls and emails. They will be required to direct each point of contact to the proper person or area as needed. The incumbent will be working as an assistant to the Seniors Resource Coordinator. As a member of the St. James Assiniboia 55+ Centre Staff, they will be part of a small team and will most likely work with all staff members.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Answering phone calls and redirecting as required
o Answering emails and redirecting as required
o Checking voicemail messages for the front desk phone line
o Building and sorting ERIK kits as needed
o Completing registrations via in person and over the phone
o Refilling pamphlets in our resource center
o Leading informative tours to bring awareness to the Centre
o Helping with offsite presentations or events as needed
o Handling the incoming and outgoing mail
o Completing tasks at the request of staff
o May be required to help with setup or cleanup of daily activities
o Updating client/ member information as needed
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Reports to the Executive Director.
This position requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and recommend action to be taken. As well as the ability to organize and maintain work methods and to prioritize job assignments. Individuals will be expected to act independently and must demonstrate initiative, self-direction, and sound judgment daily.

- Should obtain a thorough knowledge of the objectives and function of the St. James Assiniboia 55+ center.
- Must be skilled in task delegation, coordination, and review.
- Must be capable of dealing diplomatically and sensitively with people as well as establishing good working relationships with people on a variety of levels.
- Work well under pressure and with constant interruptions.
- Work in a rapid pace work environment to handle multiple tasks.
- Significant experience with word processing, managing databases, handling email and phone communications effectively.
