What you get to do every single day
- Act as the point of contact for employees on all HR related inquiries and concerns, providing advice as needed or escalating issues as required
- Assist talent acquisition on recruitment initiatives such as coordinating interviews/meetings, liaising with departmental leads on their hiring needs, and conducting the interviews in partnership with hiring managers
- Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
- Evaluate employee performance, including assisting with annual reviews, appraising pay scales, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
- Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
- Review company-wide policies to ensure compliance with rules and regulations such as the OSHA and ESA
- Design templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
- Manage employee relations, including coordinating sensitive conversations and engaging employee
- Collaborate with other members of the HR department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
- Post Secondary Education in Human Resources Management or related.
- 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Assistant, Human Resources Coordinator Position
- Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Experienced with full cycle recruitment and onboarding
- Working knowledge on Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Employment Standards Act
- Prior experience assisting with payroll, such as tracking leaves of absences and vacation
- Prior HR experience in a Generalist capacity preferred
- Excellent written and verbal business skills
- Willing to work as part of a team or independently and have the drive to take on a variety of tasks and projects
