Job description

Delivery Driver, or Courier, is responsible for delivering products to customers. Their main duties include driving a delivery vehicle, delivering items in a timely manner, loading the cargo onto the truck, unloading the cargo, organizing and palleting cargo, and communicating with both customers and the central dispatch unit. This shift is from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday and will require overtime from time-to-time.

Requirements of work…

· Bondable

· Hold a valid Alberta class 5 (or greater) driver’s license

· Have and maintain a clean driver’s abstract

· Have and maintain a good insurance history

· Ability to operate cars, vans, trucks, 1-ton cube vans, 5-ton trucks

· Have good literacy/numeracy skills

· Clearly speak and understand English

· The ability to confidently use a smartphone – you will need to take photos, send via text using the GPS system and any other apps as required by your position

· The ability to load/unload your assigned vehicle

· The ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities…

· The ability to follow instructions/directions as given

· Driving safely and according to all local and federal driving laws

· Load/un-load products to the appropriate area as determined by the customer

· Collect payments from customers on any COD deliveries

· Provide special care in delivery and handling fragile/hazardous products

· Adhere to all company operating policies and procedures

· Perform vehicle inspections (checking fluids, tire pressures)

· Inform manager any repairs as needed

· Inform manager of any check engine warnings/noises that seem abnormal

· Clean vehicle at the end of each shift (remove the garbage, wipe down, sweep out)

· Once a week (more if needed) take the vehicle to the wash bay and rinse down

· Non-employee passengers are prohibited without written approval from the manager

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $28.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Experience:

• Commercial driving: 3 years (required)
