Salaried position
Purpose of Position
The Regional Director of operations is responsible for operational oversight of an assigned region and its personnel, to retain, improve, and develop the existing client base, ensure operational excellence and profitability, and ensure a culture of continuous improvement.
Work Environment
The Regional Director of Operations will be expected to travel within the assigned region for client visits, with occasional visits outside the region(Southwestern Ontario). The Regional Director of Operations will be expected to manage his/her time to accommodate a 24/7 operation.
Structure and Relationship
The position reports directly to the Regional Director ofSouthwestern Ontario, overseeing a Branch & Account Management Team, recruitment, scheduling, and all other aspects of day-to-day operations in their region. The Regional Director of Operations will work closely with the support team and directly with the Business Development team to improve and grow the book of business in their region.
Required Skills
-Ability to speak in a public setting and lead various types of presentations
-7-10 years of management experience in managing a group of managers
-Be able to travel Southwestern region for operations
-Required prior operational management experience
-Previous security experience is considered an asset
-Prior unionized environment experience is an asset
-Sales environment experience is required
-Be able to negotiate contracts
-P&L management experience is a must-have
-One should be data-driven
-Expert in MS Office; Excel, word, and PowerPoint, outlook etc
-Entrepreneurial and self-starter attitude
-Ability to coach, mentor & develop personnel;
-Excellent communication skills (written & oral); solid inter-personal skills, good at building relationships & influencing others around creative problem solving; and,
-Proven ability to prioritize & multi-task in a fast-paced environment; excellent problem-solving, organization & analytical skills to juggle competing priorities;
-Strong business acumen & strategic sense
Task Related Objectives
-Overall fiscal responsibility of the assigned region
-Meet and exceed annual budget forecasts
-Oversee the day-to-day (24/7) operations of the assigned region
-Directly manage a team of Branch & Account Managers and/or Operations Managers who, in turn, provide leadership, direction, and tactical coordination for all operational activities.
-Directly or indirectly manage a support team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing
-Will ensure the efficacy of staffing levels of recruitment, scheduling
-Through the application of enabling technology, process enhancements, talent development, and production/analysis of key performance metrics, drive the performance of the region in key areas, including guard deployment; receipt, assignment, and fulfillment of local, regional, and national service requests; customer experience; validation of essential service delivery outcomes.
-Through proactive planning, forecast and recommend adjustments to resource levels based on anticipated operational needs.
-Participate in the strategic planning process by recommending & developing proactive policies, procedures & systems to support the operations
-Manage cost efficiencies including overtime and training time.
-Examining and updating policies that govern Field Directors, Supervisors, Account Managers, and personnel that ensure an unsurpassed customer experience
