Qualifications:
Registered Practical Nurse with a current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses
Proof of medication administration education/competency
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Leadership ability
Demonstrated ability to participate and function in a Team environment
Understanding of and commitment to Resident centered care
Long-term care experience an asset
Other related certification an asset
Duties and Responsibilities:
Dispensing of medication
Treatment of dressing changes
Communication with physicians and families
Supervises and directs on-floor Team Members where required
Problem solving complex situation
Participate in the ongoing assessment of Resident care needs, monitoring and reporting the condition of all Residents
Follow established duties and job routines outlined in S&R policies and procedures
Support the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
