Reporting and Analytics Specialist (Job ID: 3285)

The Corporate Services department is a critical and strategic business function of the Network. It serves as an authoritative and integrated partner in the organization on strategic financial planning and budgeting, business strategy, financial analysis, risk assessment, and financial management, accounting and reporting services. As the steward of resources, the department is accountable for maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial management and accounting of resources in accordance with the highest standards of ethics and accountability framework, providing accurate and transparent financial reporting to governing bodies, clients, partners and stakeholders.

The Reporting & Analytics Specialist provides critical support to the management, financial integrity, and analytical capacity of the Network. The Specialist utilizes clinical, financial, supply chain, and human resources systems, data, and operational knowledge while assessing the integrity of these data sources for reporting purposes. In turn they provide structured and ad hoc analytics and reporting to provide robust insights to clinical, business, and governance stakeholders in support of improvements to the hospital¿s operational performance, and improve the capacity of other teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Obtains and facilitates understanding of clinical and business systems, including processes and data flows, interfaces and integration necessary to facilitate analytical outputs;
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets large and complex clinical, financial, supply chain, and human resources data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights;
  • Reviews the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data sources by ensuring quality controls are in place and performing data audits where required;
  • Develops predictive models and perform statistical analysis to report on past performance, report on future performance, and identify opportunities for operational improvement;
  • Collaborates with the Business Transformation team to develop and recommend business transformation and process improvement objectives where required, including root cause analysis of process gaps, review of transactions, offering recommendations and implementing improvements, and providing the groundwork for business maintenance of new processes;
  • Collaborates with the Data Governance team to advance data governance initiatives where required, including understanding of data structures and cleansing for increased consistency and reliability for subsequent analytical work and reporting;
  • Automates data extraction, transformation, and loading processes to streamline Reporting and enhance data accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborates with clinical, business, and governance stakeholders to obtain an understanding of the risks and objectives informing Reporting and analytical requests;
  • Gathers and develops reporting requirements from the applicable clinical, business, and governance stakeholders and works with R&A leadership to prioritize requests;
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues to establish metrics and benchmarks for measuring business performance;
  • Designs and develops visually appealing and interactive dashboards, reports, and presentations to effectively communicate key insights to stakeholders;
  • Develops automated data extraction and reporting to facilitate increased ¿self-serve¿ and ¿core¿ reporting tools and increased capacity for analysis and insight by other teams;
  • Communicates findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, and facilitate data-driven discussions to support decision-making processes;
  • Resolves complex and escalated operational issues including mediation with impacted stakeholders where necessary;
  • Develops and maintains relationships with a broad array of stakeholders, using effective communication and influencing skills to gain support for recommended initiatives;
  • Advances personal learning and professional development in matters, best practices, emerging areas and standards in a number of cross-functional areas impacting the hospital, including finance, supply chain, HR/payroll compliance, and clinical operations.
  • Working closely with other teams across the hospital, identify, oversee and execute best practice changes related to service delivery, roles/responsibilities, accountabilities, processes and controls to enable project outcomes;
  • Perform all necessary testing programs and document all necessary outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, and/or other relevant field.
  • Previous experience in the non-profit and public sector (specifically healthcare) highly preferred;
  • Minimum of 3 years in a data analytics position, or a similar role with strong utilization of data.
  • Experience with data warehouse concepts and data integration is a plus;
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis using tools such as SQL, Excel, Python, R, or Tableau;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract insights from complex data sets;
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills to convey meaningful operational insights to non-technical stakeholders;·
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff and community;·
  • Ability to maintain ethics and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial, personal, and clinical data;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and manage multiple priorities;
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change rapidly
