The opportunity:
The Resource Management/ Experience Management (EM) Supervising Associate is a member of the Tax Canada Experience Management Team. The EM Supervising Associate will provide functional support to the Toronto Tax Compliance Team
Your key responsibilities:
As an EM Supervising Associate, you will be responsible for supporting deployment; development; and capacity management of the Tax client-serving professionals. You will be responsible for reporting requirements in order to effectively deploy client-serving professionals and provide them with meaningful career experiences. You will work with EM and Client-Serving Leaders to understand and set appropriate priorities.
Deployment:
- Address complex scheduling assignments for designated competencies.
- Assist with the creation/ maintenance of accurate personnel and client engagement schedules.
- Proactively identify resources that will become available.
- Proactively monitor and highlight unassigned resources in order to reallocate and minimize unassigned time.
- Regularly communicate material schedule changes to the appropriate teams.
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with other EM team on staffing requirements.
- Understand and apply independence policies to the EM processes and tools to ensure continual compliance with EY Global and regulatory requirements.
- Consult with EY partners and staff across Canada on independence issues related to both personal and firm-related independence matters.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to keep pace with the firm's evolving business needs.
Reporting:
- Act as a subject matter resource on EM tools/enablers
- Create routine reports using existing templates that show utilization performance, availability forecasts, and variances between actual and forecasted utilization.
- Partner with EM, Talent, Workforce Planning, and Finance on headcount decisions
- Create reports and pivot tables for deployment area
- Actively use EY enablers including resourcing, talent and finance tools and databases.
Teaming:
- Demonstrate effective teaming with Tax and EM team(s) by proactively responding to requests.
- Understand system and reporting escalation points to resolve problems accordingly.
- Work with Canadian EM team by proactively responding to requests.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as required (i.e., creation of dashboards, process improvement, training, etc.)
- Participate in the orientation of new hires by providing an overview of the EM function and operating model.
- Partner with Tax Talent Team (i.e. HR) on Performance Management initiatives.
- Identify ways to improve EM processes and contribute to team initiatives.
- Work with peers across the Americas Tax EM by contributing to EM priorities; task forces; and/or projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience attributes for success:
- Microsoft Excel skills, such as the ability to do export and manipulate data; analyze pivot tables, etc.
- English language skills - very strong written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Proven client service focus, with an ability to resolve issues quickly, with a sense of urgency
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Flexible in adapting to constantly changing priorities
- Outstanding teamwork and interpersonal skills

- Experience in a professional services firm desirable
- High degree of expertise on EM systems/ enablers
To qualify for this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
