We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager to lead our Ontario restaurant operations (Denny's), located in Brantford ON. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for hospitality, a commitment to exceptional guest service, and a drive for operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all facets of restaurant operations, including food preparation, quality control, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels, food costs, and waste to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Manage restaurant finances, including cash handling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Utilize POS systems to process orders, payments, and track sales.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to maintain consistency and excellence in service delivery.
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial targets in collaboration with senior management.
- Analyze financial statements, sales trends, and cost data to identify areas for cost control, revenue enhancement, and profitability improvement.
- Implement strategies to optimize sales, minimize expenses, and achieve financial objectives.
- Recruit, train, and develop a skilled and motivated team of restaurant staff, including servers, cooks, and support personnel.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to ensure team members deliver outstanding service and uphold brand standards.
- Foster a positive work environment characterized by teamwork, respect, and accountability.
- Champion a culture of guest satisfaction by ensuring every guest receives friendly, prompt, and attentive service.
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving for swift resolution and positive outcomes.
- Regularly review guest feedback and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the local community, stakeholders, and organizations to enhance brand visibility and goodwill.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to execute promotional campaigns, events, and initiatives aimed at driving traffic and increasing revenue.
- Participate in community events, sponsorships, and charitable activities to strengthen the restaurant's ties with the community.
Requirements:
- 3+ experience in restaurant management, preferably in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Food Handler Certification and Smart Serve Certification or equivalent.
- Red Seal or Equivalent Certification.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to deliver exceptional results.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound understanding of financial management principles and experience with budgeting and cost control.
- Knowledge of Ontario's restaurant industry regulations, health codes, and labor laws.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
