RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guest Interaction:
- Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take orders accurately and answer any questions about the menu.
- Offer recommendations and provide information about daily specials.
- Address guest concerns and ensure their satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
- Enter orders into the POS system accurately, ensuring special requests are communicated to the kitchen.
- Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food orders.
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely and organized manner.
- Monitor table needs and refill drinks, clear dishes, and reset tables as necessary.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods.
- Be prepared to explain menu items, including potential allergens and dietary options.
- Understanding of common food allergens.
- Minimum of two to three years’ experience in a server role is required.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English, a second language is an asset.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written (via phone and in-person).
- OpenTable knowledge is an asset / Micros knowledge is an asset.
- Must have Serving it Right and FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
- Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages.
- A positive, upbeat attitude with the ability to work well under pressure within a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill a variety of opening or closing duties.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours in length and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Strong multitasking abilities and the ability to work under pressure.
