The Multi-Service Centre (MSC) is a non-profit organization serving the tri-counties area of Oxford, Elgin and Norfolk and focusing on delivering essential services to our community. Staff and management provide high quality, client driven care programs including Adult Literacy & Essential Skills, Employment Programs and Home Support services

Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys seeing the positive impact of their work within their community. As a Retention Specialist you will be part of a diverse and forward-thinking Employment Services (ES) team who provides exceptional employment services to the tri-counties area of Oxford, Elgin, and Norfolk!

As a Retention Specialist at the MSC you will:

· Provide one-on-one support to clients who are seeking employment and who are currently employed, helping them overcome challenges and barriers to retention.

· Develop and implement personalized job retention strategies for clients, tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files for each client, tracking their progress and needs.

· Build and maintain relationships with local employers to identify job retention opportunities and address workplace concerns.

· Mediate any conflicts or concerns between clients and their employers to facilitate mutually beneficial solutions.

· Identify areas for skill development and provide guidance on training and development opportunities to enhance client job stability.

· Stay informed about employment-related policies, laws, and regulations, ensuring clients' employment situations comply with relevant requirements.

· Collect and analyze data to measure client retention rates and report on the effectiveness of retention strategies.

· Collaborate with the Program Manager to continuously review and improve the Employment Retention program to better serve our clients.

· Facilitate Pre-Employment Programs.

· Communicate regularly with the Employment Services Program Manager.

· Other duties as assigned or as the position evolves.

What you bring:

· Degree or Diploma in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Human Resources) or equivalent work experience.

· Experience in career planning, employment counseling and client case management

· Experience in networking, marketing and promotion with private, not for profit and governmental sectors.

· Knowledge of Employment Ontario guidelines and regulations.

· Knowledge of employers, employment issues and local labour market trends

· Advanced skills working with computers needed, with knowledge of CaMS preferred.

· Experience with on-the-job coaching would be an asset

· Diplomatic and tactful conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities

· Adherence to confidentiality and professional code of conduct

· Passion for continuous professional development
