The Risk Policy Team partners with individuals across Risk Management to facilitate the development, issuance, and maintenance of Risk owned policies, standards, procedures, and frameworks (“Policy Documents”). The Risk Policy Governance Officer supports a portfolio of Policy Documents across risk categories and collaborates with teams across the Risk Policy Team and the broader Risk Framework & Policy Group in the execution of governance, management, and oversight initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Drive the development of new and revised Policy Documents through ongoing interactions with senior management
• Assess and challenge the content and structure of Policy Documents
• Guide Policy Documents through required approval processes
• Publish Policy Documents on the enterprise-wide platform
• Maintain and analyze data attributes, and generate management reporting as necessary
• Review and challenge the content, status, and completeness of periodic reviews of Policy Documents
• Collaborate with Owners as they maintain their Policy Documents to ensure they adequately address the risks for which they were created
• Support the implementation of and adherence to Policy Document governance requirements
• Interact with regional counterparts for Policy Document approval and adherence to Global/Regional Policy Document requirements
• Participate in global Policy Document governance and management forums on behalf of Risk Policy Management
• Provide strategic input into Transformation activities
• Support the execution of Transformation activities
Qualifications:
• 5-10 years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry preferred
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to work in an environment that is not yet in a mature state
• Effective listening skills
• Ability to move with change
• Able to work across levels in risk management and also with other operations and business teams
• Excellent Presentation skills – adept at presenting effectively to audiences of various sizes and adapting style as necessary
• Able to identify and influence key decision makers across various levels and functions within the organization
• Candidates must have effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating Risk issues, strength in sustaining autonomous views
• Credit risk experience (Wholesale/Corporate/Financial Institutions) required.
Education:
• Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
