REMOTE ROLE: Role primarily based from home, but some travel to visit work locations may be required on occasional bases (10-20%); 
-Must possess drivers license and access to vehicle for this purpose
Fluent in English (required), Fluency in French not required, but considered an asset.  Fluency in other languages also considered and asset. 
 
Job Summary
HSQA Manager, Systems and Policy
Overview: This position will oversee improvements and maintenance of Health & Safety (H&S) Systems and policies. The successful candidate will lead a range of H&S projects and activities as they relate to our safety strategy and strengthening of our EnCompass Safety brand.
The responsibilities include:

-Regular review and update of the Health & Safety Management System
-Regular review and update of key Safety policies (e.g., Safety Policy, Return to Work Policy)
-Overseeing day-to-day functioning and initiating systemic improvements of the 24/7 training system, including liaising with the vendor as needed.
-Review, prioritization and assignment of Risk Management requests to the appropriate team members of the Programs team (e.g., JSAs, QA-QTs, miscellaneous program changes etc.).
-Liaising with various internal and external stakeholders such as CGC sectors, support departments, and vendors as the need arises.
-Overseeing the development of communications and educational material as it pertains to Safety. The target audience may range from hourly associates all the way up to senior leadership.
-Other duties as assigned, which will evolve as the Safety team moves through the various stages of Safety strategy execution and EnCompass Safety brand strengthening.
-Staying current on OHS industry trends, research and best practices.  Proactively apply learnings to continuous improvement plans for our HSMS.
-Selection and testing of OHS processes, tools and equipment to support the implementation of our HSMS
-Provide technical guidance on OHS incidents and risk assessments. 
-Lead a team of HSQA professionals who will assist in the execution of the above responsibilities with a focus on developing and supporting their team.
 
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
-Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & safety (OHS)– preferably diploma or degree completion
-5+ years of work experience in an OHS role that includes development and maintenance of OHS system programs
-Experience and understanding of techniques for risk assessments, incident investigation and root cause analysis.
-Working knowledge and experience with provincial legislation from across Canada; ability to interpret and apply to program development
-Understanding of applicable standards including, but not limited to CSA, ANSI, UL, ISO, NFPA.
-Experience in food services / hospitality industries would be an asset
-Technical knowledge of OHS audit system protocols and techniques
-Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation would be an asset
-Experience in technical writing, in particular writing policies and procedures
-Demonstrated leadership skills
-Strong time management and organizational skills
-Solid written and oral communication skills 
-Project management skills would be an asset
-Experience working with certification programs such as ISO, COR, Safety Excellence.
-Previous experience in leading teams would be an asset
-Experience using online learning platforms, risk management systems (auditing / incident reporting) , SharePoint and PowerBI would be a strong asset.
