Position: Room Checker
Status: Part-Time (unionized)
Availability: Weekdays, Weekends and Holidays
Report to: Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisor

Job description Duties & Responsibilities
- To check guest rooms and designated housekeeping areas achieving standards of cleanliness and presentation as laid down by the brand
- Observe the Room attendant day to day operation
- To establish a good working relationship with Room Attendants in order to ensure positive response
- To ensure the accurate completion of housekeeping forms/reports
- To be knowledgeable about and follow the rules outlined in the Collective Agreement
- To ensure fair delegation of work and safe use of cleaning materials and supplies for Room attendant
- To assist with cleaning room in case of high occupancy
- To assist with Laundry in case of high occupancy
- To liaise with Guest Services and Maintenance regarding “ready rooms”/maintenance work orders in order to achieve guest satisfaction
- To respond to special requests, VIP and MOD rooms
- To adhere to all matters relating to hygiene, health, safety and emergency procedure
- To carry out any reasonable request to the guests
- To provide exceptional customer service with positive addressing of guest concern/complaints
- To work and communicate in a professional and ethical manner with colleagues assisting where necessary
- Give feedback, Houseperson when needed and related the information to the Executive Housekeeper.
- To assist with team member orientation/training within the department
- To maintain standard of punctuality, uniform/ dress code appropriate to position and personal hygiene
- To attend meeting and training as required and to recognize the importance of contributing new ideas and initiative to the overall success of the operation
- To contribute to the security of the building, company asset and guest/co-workers safety with full adherence to security procedures with proper handling of keys.
- Update physical status of room condition by punching the room code in the phone.
- Write maintenance requests for room deficiencies.
- Assist with the closing procedures, Lost and found enquiries and logging in the system, etc.)
- Involves developing and training other housekeeping staff
- Adhere to all matters relating to Code of Conduct, health, safety and emergency procedures
- Other duties assign by the manager
