Safety Coordinator

Homestar Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

· Inspect all sites to ensure there is a hazard-free work environment.

· Verify that all tools and equipment are adequate for the job and in safe working order.

· Maintain a regular inspection and maintenance schedule for all equipment.

· Promote safe practices on and at the job sites.

· Enforce safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.

· Conduct investigation of near-miss and/or accidents.

· Report to appropriate authorities as mandated by laws and regulations.

· Conduct job hazard analysis.

· Respond to employee’s safety concerns. Create plans to improve health and safety in the workplace.

· Educate staff on health and safety protocols.

· Prepare reports for management.

· Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees.

· Maintain compliance with all safety regulations.

· Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques.

· Establish and maintain proper documentation as mandated by company policies, procedures, and statutory authorities.

· Design and or facilitate all necessary training courses.

· Ability to communicate effectively with workers in a nonconfrontational way by coaching, teaching, instructing, training all in the proper techniques of job safety. Embedding a safety-first culture in the organization regarding all tasks.

Requirements:

· Proven past experience as a safety officer.

· Work as part of a team.

· Good analytical and coordinating abilities.

· Must possess good leadership qualities.

· Current/valid driver’s license.

· Steel toed safety boots

· Time management skills
