Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales Manager will be responsible for developing & implementing sales strategies for aggregate sales for municipal, commercial, and residential construction applications & asphalt paving solutions for residential and commercial customers; build and maintains customer relationships in the interest of increasing and solidifying Company’s market share in the North Bay region
Main Responsibilities
- Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives
- Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Engage with contractors, developers, government agencies, and private customers, to strategically develop & grow sales to new and existing accounts in the North Bay region
- Respond to material sales inquiries & quote requests, pricing, setup system orders, process point of sale transactions and invoicing through JWS Apex software
- Respond to residential & commercial asphalt paving quote requests, meet with customers to scope projects, provide pricing, agreements and send invoicing
- Oversight of customer credit and account limits & monitor collections
- Read and interpret plans and proposals, specifications, and other documentation to quantify/prepare quotes as required
- Work closely with operations to ensure timelines for customer deliveries and paving projects are being met; Identify and resolve client concerns at the point of material delivery
- Oversight of select quarry/truck delivery staff depending on location and other operational requirements
Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in business management, finance, accounting, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required
Skills & Physical Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving history required
- 5 years prior experience in the aggregate/asphalt industry in a sales or a related field required
- Prior experience with budgeting and production planning preferred
- Prior experience with Command Alkon & JD Edwards software preferred
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company safety guidelines
- Regularly required to travel to and from client meetings and job sites
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to Stand/work on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
- Frequently required to sit for long periods at a desk using a computer, utilize MS Office and CRM software
