Sales & Marketing Assistant

Canadiana Flowers is a full-service floral and gift provider in Scarborough, servicing the GTA and surrounding areas. Family owned and operated for 50 years, we are committed to providing the highest level of customer service and the best in floral design and quality.

We are currently looking for an energetic, creative & imaginative individual to join our team full time (including some Saturdays & Sundays) our location at 3087 Kingston Road This is an exciting opportunity to work in an extremely diversified, and fast-paced environment.

We are looking for an individual that can adapt to a changing and exciting environment and assist the owners & team with administrative, marketing and day to day operations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with uploading and maintaining website
• Assist, Develop & execute on all Social Media platforms, Facebook, Instagram, Blogs and other Social Media for Canadiana Flowers
• Assist with the development of internal marketing material on a day to day basis
• Assist with the development & upgrade of our events website on Wordpress Platform
• Assist with our social media posts and daily/ weekly specials
• Assist walk-in customers with point-of-sale interactions
• Answer store phone: take orders, messages, etc as applicable
• Enter telephone orders into computer system
• Assist with the Events Team with current and future events
• Flower care: cut flower maintenance, plant maintenance, etc.
• Merchandise incoming stock
• Prepare and wrap customer orders for delivery
• Maintenance of general e-mail account, social media, website
• Process orders from online business
• Act as the first point of contact in direct customer related interactions
• Provide every Canadiana customer with the highest level of customer service, both in person and over the telephone
• Maintain a clean and safe working space
• Other administrative tasks as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Excellent computer skills in: Wordpress, Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook, and quick learner of new computer programs and systems
• Great working knowledge of Wordpress
• Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Blogging, and other Social Media Platforms
• Willing to work weekends and stay later than scheduled time depending on volume of business, holidays, special events, etc.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs for short distances
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal
• Dedicated to customer service and providing a positive customer experience
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Team-player with a positive and friendly demeanor
• Detail oriented, focused, and committed to long-term employment
• Excellent communication skills, both over the phone and in person

Canadiana Flowers is open seven days a week. Availability on some Saturdays & Sundays is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
