Sales Representative

Job Description: This position has overall responsibility for the day to day sales duties on the sales floor while working with each customer to familiarize and educate them on our products. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all merchandise and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner. Sales include knowledge of Windows, Laminate Flooring, building supplies, tile and other materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

· Abide by and adhere to all tasks and procedures outlined in the Employee Manual and any other distributed documents.

· Comply with all health and safety regulations and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment as required.

· Report for work as scheduled wearing the appropriate clothing and logoed company attire as may be required.

· Making sales through excellent customer relations by greeting every customer, familiarizing them with our products, educating them on our products, and responding to their questions and concerns.

· Merchandising products to present them in a manner that will move them, which often requires product shifting on a daily basis.

· Preparing quotes for customers and ensuring that all necessary fields have been completed and special notes have been reviewed and discussed with customer.

· Picking the product from the floor for the items sold or making arrangements for the product pick up in the Warehouse with the Lead Warehouse and/or Loading product for customers.

· Assisting customers with refunds and/or price changes when necessary.

· Assisting co-workers with their tasks during slow periods or by sharing product knowledge, etc.

· Communicate with other stores/door plant/suppliers as necessary.

· Clean up work area daily, ensuring site is kept tidy and safe at all times.

· Clean up of Bathroom area when scheduled.

· Perform any other tasks as assigned by the owner or acting supervisor within this job description.

Skills

· Completion of High School or equivalent.

· Certifications in WHMIS and First Aid would be considered an asset.

· Strong technical knowledge in carpentry/construction products and processes; application of products and processes; math skills; occupational health and safety.

· Previous experience in sales would be considered an asset.

· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English both verbally and in writing.

· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

· Ability to be self-motivated.

· Strong organizational skills and must be detail oriented and flexible.

· Ability to work as part of a team and be a team player.

· Ability to lift 50 - 75 pounds on a repetitive basis.

· Ability to provide clean drivers abstract and criminal records background check.

Decision Making

This position makes decisions only within the scope of the job description and/or specific instructions from their supervisors. This position is accountable for the decisions he makes.

Inside/Outside Relationships

This position deals with customers, co-workers, suppliers on a regular basis and must be able to maintain a professional and business-like attitude at all times.

Position Conditions

This position works both inside and outside and must monitor and adhere to various safety guidelines. This position must have the flexibility to stand, sit, walk, climb, twist or bend as required and must be able to lift 50 to 75 pounds on a repetitive basis. This position has some exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, heat, cold, noise, and inclement weather. This position requires visual concentration to complete daily tasks. This position requires good hearing to listen for unusual sounds in equipment and site management.

Financial

This position has financial responsibility as it pertains to meeting his sales budget and errors within sales quotations.

Supervisory/Management

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Commission

Salary: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
