Scale House Attendant

THE COMPANY:

Norfolk Disposal Services Limited is a family owned and operated waste management business servicing Norfolk and surrounding area for more than 60 years.

THE POSITION:

Norfolk Disposal Services Limited is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to oversee the roles and responsibilities of the Scale House at the Waterford Transfer Station location.

The successful candidate will greet customers and company driver’s coming in and out of the transfer station as well as taking weights and payments, including other as required tasks.

This is a full-time permanent position with the following work schedule:

· Monday – Friday – 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

· Saturday – 7:00 am – 12:00 pm

Experience in the transportation/waste and recycling industry is an asset, but not required. Willing to train the right candidate who is eager and a quick learner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but are not limited to):

· Greet customers and drivers

· Operate the weigh scale and scale software

· Handle cash and debit transactions as well as completing daily Scale House inventory reports

· Respond to inquiries from the public

· Ability to maintain company trucking records

· Ability to fully participate in the company safety program

· Maintain radio communication with dispatch, driver’s and loader operators

REQUIREMENTS (Include but are not limited to):

· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

· Attendance and punctuality is required for all shifts

· Ability to work independently

· Demonstrated cash and debit transaction experience

· Excellent customer service/communication skills

· Very organized, with excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

· Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

· Willingness to take on other duties as required
