The Scale Operator carries out the day to day scale operations and requirements and our aggregate depot. You will be tasked with scaling trucks, data entry, and top notch customer service. Previous scaling/aggregate based experience is a plus, but we will provide on the job training.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service
- Greet and help customers/truck drivers as they come through scale
- Process all credit/debit card payments accurately and quickly
- Offer a base knowledge of products in the yard
Results / Accountabilities
- Scale (weigh) trucks for tare or sale purposes, ensuring legal compliance
- Operate one, or more scale as necessary
- Accurately enter truck, customer, product and job information
- Direct truck movement into the pit, and provide key information to loader
- Complete relevant ticket, and sale tracking reports
- Manage day to day paperwork, and stock of scalehouse
- Maintain general cleanliness of scale house
- Other tasks and duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
- Grade 12, or equivalent knowledge & skills
- Computer savvy, experience with MS Word & Excel a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong multitasking, and problem solving abilities
- Reliable transportation
- Able to sit/stand for 10+ hours/ day
- Experience scaling or in aggregate industry considered a plus
