Overview

Lafarge Canada is currently looking to fill a Scale Attendant position in the Lower Mainland. This position is a Full time position.
The Scale Attendant is responsible for the tracking and direction of trucks, and for scaling/ticketing trucks as they leave our sites. The Scale Attendant Will ensure the front line field level adherence and enforcement of Lafarge safety policies, procedures and processes with all fill site and haul trucks, drivers and operators.
Working in a fast paced environment, speed, accuracy and attention to detail is a must. This individual must be an excellent team player and utilize their strong organization and communication skills to coordinate trucks, working with dispatch to ensure deliveries are “On-Time, In-Full, Ticketed Correctly”.
The employee will be tasked with the day to day office duties, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of all tasks assigned.
Computer competency and an ability to learn in a fast pace environment is a must. Experience with Excel and working knowledge of Google Sheets also required.
Vehicle required and ability to travel to work sites in Coquitlam, Abbotsford, and Pitt Meadows. While minimum - Coverage at times may be required in the Richmond (Mitchell Island) area.
Shifts are normally during the day, Monday to Friday - availability for Weekends and Night shift at times is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Scale and Tare trucks
  • Entering Material and Dump tickets correctly
  • Complete tracking sheets for materials and dumps
  • Process Cash Sale transactions
  • Track and reconcile COD Sales
  • Faxing of various tracking sheets to customers when required
  • Sort mail
  • Manage Field Level Risk Assessments and Contractor hours
  • Ensure office supplies are stocked
  • Help with any other requests as required

Qualifications and qualities:
  • Must be computer literate (job requires use of Microsoft Office, SAP, Google Drive,APEX ticketing)
  • Basic knowledge of products and industry terminology preferred
  • Strong safety mindset
  • Work well under pressure
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Understanding of basic logistical flow of haul trucks

Education and Work Experience:
  • Experience in construction industry an asset: EG - Flagging, Scaling
  • Experience with Ticketing of trucks and Weigh Scaling an asset
  • Valid Drivers License Required
  • First Aid Certification is a bonus
  • Computer Competency required (experience with Microsoft Office, Google Drive)
