Seasonal Equipment Operator - 2

Description

The RM of Britannia is accepting resumes for Seasonal Equipment Operator-2. This position is being hired for the upcoming road maintenance and construction season.
Primary Duties:
1.Operating heavy equipment such as grader, backhoe, dozer, scraper, skid-steer, sanding truck/ snow plow, tractor/mower, track hoe, loader, mulcher, packer, and other equipment typical of a municipal Operations department in a careful and efficient manner.
2.Excavating work for road and other maintenance, repair, and construction as required.
3.Cleaning of culverts as required.
4.Perform regular service and maintenance of vehicles and equipment and complete service logs.
5.Participate in all safety training, orientations, meetings, and ongoing training.
6.May perform the duties of the Operator 1.
7.Assist in the maintenance of vehicles and equipment and report necessary repairs.
8.Ensure all standards of Workplace Safety and Health are followed.
9.Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
10.Complete records relative to the equipment used and work performed.
11.Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
Experience/Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
2. High skill level in the operation of heavy equipment gained through a minimum of three (3) years of experience;
3. The incumbent must also demonstrate their ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
4. Previous training or completion of Occupational Health and Safety and knowledge of the municipality would be considered an asset.
5. Must have a valid Saskatchewan driver's license Class 5 or equivalent and provide a Criminal Record Check.
