Job Description
The Site Supervisor is responsible for the effective supervision, discipline and administration of Commissionaires assigned to his/her site. He/she ensures that their subordinates effectively implement Post Orders, Work Instructions and Commissionaires Ottawa Policies and Procedures, in addition to the following duties:
- Supervising assigned commissionaires to ensure a high standard of performance, dress, deportment and conduct are maintained
- Participating in training of new guards and maintaining accurate training records as and when needed
- Maintaining electronic shift logs, dealing with recording, reporting incidents and preparing incident reports
- Coaching and counselling
- Performing access/egress control
- Providing leadership and supervision, including administering disciplinary action
- Manning and operating the Security Console, CCTV, Fire Alarm System and voice communications systems
- Being familiar with and responding to appropriate emergency procedures
- Responding to calls, incidents and emergencies
- Accomplishing other related duties

QUALIFICATIONS
You will be evaluated against defined criteria, skills and attributes. As such, you should clearly identify related / relevant experience that corresponds to the qualifications below.
Education & Technical Knowledge/Experience:
- Post-secondary Diploma in related field such as: Business Admin, Police Foundations, Operations Management or equivalent level of experience and/or education
- 5+ years’ supervisory experience with direct reports
- Experience in managing and administrating contracts requirements
- Experience or strong knowledge working with unions and collective agreements is highly desirable
- Experience in contracts management and client relations
- Formal leadership/management training preferred
- Experience in producing timesheets, schedules and incident reports
- Knowledge of employment standards, labour relations, Health & Safety and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
- Knowledge of the security industry and facility management. Experience in security operations is preferred
- Knowledge and experience conducting Site Physical Security Surveys is an asset
- Knowledge of ISO quality management systems is an asset

- Possess strong analytical skills and creative thinking
- Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure, in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to plan and prioritize multiple task, projects and issues
- Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain routine logs
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office suite and HRIS)
Other
- Must hold a valid Ontario Guard License
- Enhanced Reliability government security screening certificate or a successful screening to Level II (Secret) within 6 months of hiring
