Role Summary
Your primary responsibility will be to fully support the Regional and District Managers in their role as it pertains to the quality of our operational services associated with your site. The security supervisor will be responsible to follow up and know all the Standard Operating Procedures for all the different roles on site. Part of the focus of your function will be to ensure that our staff on site are well trained, well dressed, knowledgeable, have the right attitude towards their role, and fully comprehend what their role is meant to accomplish. In addition to following up and knowing the routines with all the posts onsite, the security supervisor will also:
What you will do
- Supervise and train security officers
- Regularly patrol and spot-check premises
- Assist Management with Emergency Situations, including liaising with Emergency Services as needed, including investigations.
- Spot check guards to ensure Post Orders are being followed and they are adhering to company/client policies.
- Consistent CCTV Monitoring and review.
- Consistently check on the quality service levels being provided by our employees, ensuring that he/she is very aware of the job functions and performing them properly.
- Understand and have knowledge of the company policies pertaining to the wellbeing of staff, and the provision of operational services.
- Work with guard staff to ensure that staff site reports are done accurately and professionally, helping site staff to develop this skill to an expected level.
- Motivating and coaching employees.
- Effectively comunicate and collaborate with multiple department managers on a regular basis.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the site guards.
- Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents.
- Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly.
- Defuse potentially volatile situations and intervene when necessary.
- Providing great customer service to the clients.
- Able to attend and oversee the secondary site location in Mississauga as a part of regular weekly duties.
- Ability to work without close supervision, while maintaining daily and weekly communication with Site Management departments as required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Valid Security License.
- Prior supervisory experience is required.
- Ability to regularly and reliably attend site for scheduled shifts, either via personal vehicle or local regional transit is required.
- Previous experience in security is required.
- Experience in Incident detection, investigation, and response.
- Must be proficient in the English language, spoken, written, and via electronics.
- Superior observational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership ability
- Excellent skill levels in MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook Email are essential.
- The ability to write clear, concise, professional communications consistently
- Flexibility to assist with In-House projects along with regular duties
- Willingness to attend meeting and trainings to improve skills.
- Knowledgeable on safety processes and procedures.
- Use Of Force Certification is an asset
