Senior Account Manager (96048)


Location: Leamington, Ontario

Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Senior Account Manager will develop, plan and execute the sales initiatives towards the strategic accounts aiming to maintain and increase business over the years. In this role you will build long-term relationships with international or national customers in line with the M&S strategy and within BASF Vegetable Seeds to realize profitability and partnership. It is imperative to develop an added value relationship not only focusing on genetics but discussing, understanding, creating and executing Key Customer plans that offer solutions. The Senior Account Manager will also be the key person to manage strategic accounts, connections to retail and making sure promotion of our concepts are professionally presented.

Formula for Success: You Will…


  • Plan, review, adapt and execute the annual sales plan for the market.
  • Represent the company and introduce relevant products and concepts to customers to build long term partnership and generate short term sales. Direct involvement in international or cross-border projects with customers is a substantial part of the work.
  • Provide market, price, and product information in order to contribute to the formulation of the marketing and sales plan in the crop team.
  • Take care of the money collection in line with the financial policy and the payment terms to ensure sufficient cash flow.
  • Contribute to the trial program to come up with proposals regarding the assortment for local needs or for specific customers.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…


  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 years of Sales experience.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of vegetable seed business.

  • Strong agronomic skills.
  • Advanced consultative selling skills, including negotiation and closing sales plan.

  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit combined with a good ability to influence decisions of people with different backgrounds and in various functions.

  • Project management skills.

  • Leadership Skills with ability to coach and mentor team along with providing positive and constructive feedback.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, exercise good judgment, and be organized.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

  • Leadership to develop turn key projects for customers or retailers.

  • Collaboration skills. Must be able to interact and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft office. Basic knowledge of CRM.
