What will you be doing?
As a Senior Accountant, in the Government Funding Team, you will communicate with various internal departments as well as external stakeholders. This position is critical to the delivery of financial information on a timely basis. Candidates must possess strong organization and analytical skills in a position that is very detail oriented. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Assisting in the preparation of income statement reporting and analysis.
- Taking ownership of and completing monthly accounting entries in areas such as government funding
- Ownership of government funding applications, analysis and reconciliations
- Monitoring banking activities for government funds
- Gathering and formatting data for audit sampling and funding requirements.
- Providing audit support for quarter, semi-annual and annual regional and financial statement audits.
- Collaborating with team and other departments on various finance projects.
- Preparing and maintaining financial records and working papers in support of transactions.
- Preparing P&L analysis at the center level contributing to the overall review process.
- Ad-hoc accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- 4 year degree in accounting or finance
- CPA designation an asset
- 3+ years of experience working in an accounting role
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Products
- Experience working with ERP software, knowledge of NetSuite is an asset
