The Senior Accountant role is pivotal in this mission, encompassing a broad spectrum of responsibilities including audits, reviews, compilations, corporate and personal taxation, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the firm's standards of excellence, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting, and providing strategic insights to support our clients’ financial health and growth.

Education and experience
As we are a public accounting firm, experience with (or demonstrated knowledge of) assurance and taxation is critical to this role. Minimum requires consist of:
· Successful completion of a university degree;
· Holding a Canadian CPA designation or nearing its completion;
· Minimum of 2 years of audit and review experience in public practice;
· You possess a working knowledge of the impact of accounting adjustments on corporate taxes, and completion corporate tax returns, preferably.
Duties
The Senior Accountant will assume a multifaceted role, spearheading the preparation and meticulous review of complex file documentation and tax returns to ensure they adhere to the latest accounting standards and tax laws.
Direct engagement with clients is a critical aspect of this role, as the Senior Accountant will work closely with them to address their accounting needs, building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships. Additionally, the incumbent will be instrumental in the continuous improvement of our internal processes, employing innovative strategies to enhance productivity and client satisfaction.
Managing multiple projects simultaneously, the Senior Accountant will ensure that all engagements are completed in alignment with the firm’s rigorous standards, demonstrating exceptional project management skills and a commitment to excellence. This individual will also lead and mentor junior staff, providing guidance to foster their professional growth while ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in their output.

Technology
Our firm is technologically-focused and uses a several key pieces of software (and cloud) tools to keep us organized, productive, and on-task. We require extensive experience with: CaseWare, ProFile or TaxPrep, and the Microsoft Office Suite (mainly Excel, Word, and Outlook). Experience with Quickbooks, Xero, and other desktop and cloud accounting software is an asset.

Office located at Bathurst / Dupont and is accessible by subway. Flexibility exists in terms of working off-site on a needs-basis, depending on workload requirements. This is a small office environment, so being able to work independently is a key success factor.
