Senior Accountant

We are offering an exciting opportunity for professional advancement and growth in the exciting role of Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate for this role is an energized doer and has proven hands-on experience and ability in the accounting field. Reporting to the Controller, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for an interesting, wide range of general accounting duties.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Finance Manager with all reporting and day-to-day activities
- Daily Cash Management, Cash balance/forecast updating, Cheque Runs, EFT payments, Cheque Deposits
- Extract chargeable hours report and send to operations, adjust reported hours as required
- Weekly roll-forward cash flow forecast on excel template and review with management
- Weekly management report preparation, includes Cash and liquidity, Sales activities, Order book, Labour utilization, Profitability of jobs
- Extract and submit bi-weekly payroll hours to HR department
- Month End duties include but not limited to Journal Entries, Intercompany chargebacks and Financial statement analysis and preparation, HST filing
- Bank reconciliations - One account on weekly basis - Four/five accounts on monthly basis
- Expense and credit card report/payment entry
- Assist in the budgeting process, audit sample preparation, Year End inventory count
- Other Adhoc duties include but not limited to document filing, Answering to Supplier inquiries
Qualifications and educational requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Accounting. Knowledge of GAAP practices and applications for private enterprises, ideally manufacturing. Ability to work in a multi-company environment.
- Relevant post-secondary education with diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance.
- High skill in MS Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks and/or ERP, Epicor is ideal.
- Job costing, budgeting, and ERP integration.
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
- Working towards CPA Designation
