About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, External Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for the preparation of the quarterly and annual Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A). This position will work with key contacts throughout the organization to report on recent business developments while ensuring regulatory requirements are met. In addition, this position will assist with regulatory reporting and various adhoc projects, including the transition to Integrated Reporting.
The successful candidate will offer strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely, in a time-constrained, fast-paced environment.
What you'll do:
Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly and annual Management's, Discussion & Analysis (MD&A)
Partner with the numerous teams across the company to deliver accurate, transparent and insightful financial reporting and analysis
Assist with the review of external reporting documents
Prepare regulatory filings
Find opportunities to improve existing processes and implement process improvements
Ensure adequate internal controls over financial reporting are in place
Monitor continuous disclosure developments related to the MD&A and implement changes
Seek to continuously improve our external disclosures through peer reviews
Complete various regulatory reporting requirements
Review other external reporting documents for consistency
Assist with the transition to Integrated Reporting
Who you are:
University degree combined with a Chartered Professional Accountant Designation
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Excellent knowledge of IFRS and Continuous Disclosure requirements
Strong attention to detail/data accuracy
Strong knowledge of the oil and gas industry
Experience with WDesk and an ERP system (SAP) is preferred
