What you’ll do
It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

-This position supports the Distribution Services Organization with analysis, financial reporting, projects, financial process and Supply Chain optimization recommendations, as well as partnering with DS leadership to develop and lead new initiatives.
-Partners with the DC Operations to leverage a variety of data sources to perform complex data and trend analysis relating to DC payroll, and other discretionary expenses; builds financial models and dashboards to provide timely and accurate data that drives timely, effective decision-making across the business.
-Understands business trends and their impacts when preparing accurate budgets for Rolling Plan and Original Plan; partners with multiple business units, ensuring all DC and Storage Facilities Network attributes and assumptions are incorporated.
-Presents accurate and insightful financial analysis and reporting to the Finance and/or DC leadership team; summarizes complex or ambiguous financial data into simple, easy to understand insights for business use.
-Provides ad-hoc reporting for Finance Leadership and DC Operations.
-Consults on a variety of analytics and topics to inform leadership on opportunities, risks, and strategy; quantifies impacts.
-Engages in projects that optimize DS Finance processes and efficiency; collaborates on financial data management and practices across the TJXC finance function to ensure accuracy and data governance.
What you’ll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:

-A minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis; experience supporting the retail industry or supply chain partners is a strong asset.
-A post-secondary education in related field (e.g. Business Administration, Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance/Accounting or other quantitative disciplines); CPA designation or MBA are considered assets and in-progress will be considered.
-Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), retail and cost accounting methods including the ability to develop and lead tactical initiatives with Finance leadership guidance; knowledge in statistical theory is considered an asset.
-Excellent problem-solving skills including analysis of information and research skills with knowledge of design/data manipulation concepts.
-Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
-A self-starter able to work well independently; estimates time required to complete projects and keep appropriate team members up to date of progress.
-Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners; efficiently and effectively responding to inquires.
-Strong interest to pursue continuous learning, new professional challenges and enthusiasm for volunteer and/or ad-hoc projects.
-Excellent computer skills including spreadsheet (e.g. MS Excel), knowledge of accounting software, experience with budgeting (e.g. TM1) and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI).
