Position Summary (Hybrid role - must be located in Greater Toronto Area)
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting project level financial management, including forecasting, analysis, and reporting on financial data.
Your typical week at Maximus
- Prepare financial budgeting, forecasting and all required financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, while performing variance analysis between forecast and actuals.
- Ensure effectiveness of accuracy and timeliness of forecasting, reporting, accruals, and other financial related processes and systems on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Creates, maintains, and updates financial databases and spreadsheets, and generates various financial reports as required.
- Maintains appropriate records and documentation.
- Supports in tracking, monitoring, and reporting financial data as requested.
- Complete project setup requests including, but not limited to project code setups, funding changes, revenue formulas, etc.
- Participates in subcontractor contractual obligations such as developing rate cards, updating funding tables & providing other data as needed.
- Participates in the preparation of cost proposals.
- Participates in and supports monthly project billings.
- Conducts audits and analysis of the programs' direct costs and reviews practices and procedures, ensuring labor and non-labor charges are approved, allowable, and processed in a timely manner.
- Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as government regulations.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Participates in special projects as required.
- Performs duties in support of the month end close process such as accruals, revenue and cost adjustments and A/R reconciliations.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Experience in the creation of complex data reports and analysis. Knowledge of Excel macro program an asset.
- Strong organizational, verbal, written, analytical, problem solving, teamwork and communication skills, as regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment delivering results and quality services.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiples deliverables & capability of determining level priority.
- Contribute to the completion of organizational projects & goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
- Must have 5+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience required.

Salary Range - $85,020.00 - $102,674.00 CDN
