Management Audit Services is the internal audit function for the organization and is looking for a Senior Management Auditor to join our dynamic and progressive professional team that emphasizes customer service, self-development, and learning through mutual support and open communication. The Senior Management Auditor reports directly to the Chief Internal Auditor.

Management Audit Services provides independent, objective assurance and advisory services to Senior Management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. We help WCB-Alberta accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes. This position is responsible and accountable for leading and conducting advisory and audit engagements and activities on various business areas and topics throughout the organization that focus on governance, risk management and internal controls. This particular role will focus on internal controls advisory work in 2024.

The Opportunity:

As a Senior Management Auditor, you will support the Management Audit Services team and successfully lead engagement and activities assigned that comply with the professional auditing standards. To do this you will:

• Build a comprehensive understanding of WCB-Alberta's structure, governance, priorities, and business processes to be able to interpret and analyze information to identify and analyze various attributes to formulate advice and or recommendations for the organization.
• Utilizing competencies to complete audit and advisory engagements and activities assigned from the Internal Audit Plan using a risk-focused approach within budget and timelines that add value and provide insight
• Understand and utilize Management Audit Services' internal audit methodology and the global Institute of Internal Auditors professional requirements and standards.
• Collaborate to build and support effective relationships with other professionals both within and outside WCB-Alberta as well as the External Auditors from the Office of the Auditor General of Alberta.
• Support the Chief Internal Auditor and Management Audit Services team, to address requests initiated from Senior Management and/or the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

Your experience and skills:

• University Degree or diploma in a related discipline such as business, computer sciences, etc. An internal audit certification (CIA, CRMA, CISA, CFE) and/or accounting designation (CPA) would be considered an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an operations, financial or an auditing role. Case management experience and knowledge of WCB legislation and policies, procedures and systems would be considered an asset.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills to present and lead effective discussions with a variety of individuals across the organization. Candidate must be able to maintain good relationships and effectively articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to support decision making and execution of tasks and activities.
• Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively as a team member as well as build on both team and individual capabilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly changing and multifaceted environment with diverse, complex, and sensitive issues.
• Advanced skills with the use of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and the aptitude to learn audit software is desirable. Experience with analytical tools (i.e. Cognos, PowerBI, PowerQuery, Galvanize, etc.) would be considered an asset.
• Demonstrates commitment and actively participates in continual professional development opportunities. Successful candidate will be encouraged to pursue an internal audit certification.

SALARY: $87,363 to $102,765/year (Grade 12)
