What you will be doing:
As the Senior Manager of Chequing Portfolio Strategy & Performance,
you will lead and oversee the P&L strategy and pricing optimization of the Everyday Banking (Chequing) and Payments’ portfolios at Tangerine, ensuring the execution of business strategies, plans and initiatives with delivery in compliance with governing regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
-Optimize Chequing revenue while maintaining expense within target for the business line, including P & L monitoring, insights, and recommendations for OPEX management, cost to acquire and maintain, cost control, product profitability optimization, and pricing.
-Lead and develop expert knowledge of key drivers of product performance and competitor offerings; support strategic action plans by triangulating needs with business objectives, data insights, and macro-economic factors.
-Lead the problem-solving of complex business problems across the Everyday Banking products and Payments solutions, by acquiring and filtering through large volumes of data (internal and external sources) to provide insights and recommendations using advanced analytical tools (SAS, R, and Python). Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate root causes/drivers.
-Lead the development of forward looking forecasts for balance, revenue, account growth and customer behaviour, triangulating statistical techniques with external market analysis and internal data sets.
-Own the understanding of macro-economic conditions to evaluate implications on product performance and Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP).
-Strong understanding of vendor related costs to assess savings opportunities and oversee vendor expense control short term and long term.
-Identify the right measures. Produce or liaise with internal teams (BI, Data analytics) to provide reporting to measure internal and external indicators for product performance and variances to market.
-Support campaign execution and tactical strategies with market and competitive insights, pricing considerations and volume/margin dependencies.
-Maintain understanding of macro-economic conditions to evaluate implications on product performance and Funds Transfer Pricing
 
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
-University or College Degree in Business, Math/Statistics
-2+ years of experience with Data Visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
-3+ years of work experience in an Analytics role
-Experience with advanced analytics tools (R, SAS, Python, etc.)
-Experience working in an agile environment is an asset
-Proficient understanding of the retail banking industry; specifically Savings and Chequing products
-Experience preparing materials and communicating to an executive audience
-Knowledge of proprietary databases & Warehouse structures (EDW)
-Strong MS access and excel skills – including excel regression functions, VBA
