What will your typical day look like?

 

As a Senior Manager / Director you will assist with providing deal origination, process management, due diligence and other M&A transaction support to our clients. With a focus on our Corporate Development Assist (‘CDA’) offering, you will work closely with clients in developing and executing M&A strategy.

 

Initial responsibilities are noted below, but may evolve based on the ability and initiative of the candidate:

  • Identify and lead business development opportunities.
  • Enhance awareness of the function through internal and external marketing activities.
  • Take a lead role in developing and shaping M&A strategy for clients. Work closely with senior leadership to develop and refine their inorganic growth initiatives.
  • Evaluate the financial and strategic fit of potential opportunities by analyzing financial statements, conducting valuation analysis, and assessing industry trends and competitive landscapes.
  • Prepare business cases and investment memos to present to senior leadership for decision-making.
  • Create long term relationships at a senior client level.
  • Lead deal origination activities including target identification, outreach, indicative valuation preparation and providing negotiation support.
  • Lead the end-to-end deal execution process, including due diligence, financial modeling, and deal structuring.
  • Build comprehensive M&A playbooks and advise on M&A process governance and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other Deloitte functions (e.g. IT, HR, Cyber, Capital Advisory, Analytics, Integration, and Industry Experts, etc.) on multi-disciplinary projects.

About the team

 

The M&A Transaction Services team is a collaborative group that creates value for clients undergoing a merger, acquisition, divestiture, or even alliances / joint ventures. Our team supports our clients in all stages of the M&A lifecycle through our One-Deloitte approach. We engage on deals of all sizes in diverse industries. The team has successfully closed deals ranging from $5 million to $1 billion + in value and serve primarily mid-market private and public sector clients.

 

Deloitte M&A Transaction Services team is similar to large firms, but we have added many nice M&A services which we can discuss if you are interested in speaking with us.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

 You are someone with:

  • 7+ years of applicable experience, with a minimum of 3 years of M&A, experience including ideally some M&A / Corporate Development experience.
  • Completion of a CPA/CA or CFA or CBV is preferred. 
  • Proven track-record in identifying and leading business development opportunities.
  • Commitment to active mentorship, to coach team members to their highest potential.
  • Deep understanding of the M&A lifecycle, financial modelling, integration, and Corporate Development function.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to think analytically and creatively to identify growth opportunities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects end-to-end including mobilizing and managing engagement teams; defining deliverable structure and content; facilitating buy-in of proposed solutions from client management at all levels; and managing engagement economics, issues, and risks.
  • A dedication to professional and client service excellence.
  • An ability to leading other M&A Advisory processes potentially including financial due diligence and deal integration processes.  
  • Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset.

Total Rewards


The salary range for the Senior Manager position is $105,000 - $208,000 and $140,000 - $260,000 for the Director position, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
