Purpose


Contributes to the overall success of Global Operations (GO) with a focus on fostering Employee Engagement (EE) and a strong sense of pride within GO through strong communication platforms and initiatives. Drives Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in support of the broader Global DEI strategy, the development and delivery of EE strategy and programs to enhance the employee experience.


Supports GO DEI Council Chairs, members, team leads and SVP+ business leaders with the development, execution and monitoring of GO specific DEI initiatives to advance the global DEI strategy and goals. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.


Accountabilities


  • Champions a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen partner relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.


  • Support the development and delivery of GO DEI strategy and programs to advance GO’s mandate:
    • Ensures continued alignment of GO DEI strategic focus and initiatives to the Bank’s Global DEI strategy, goals and Employment Equity Plans.
    • Supports alignment between GO DEI Council and the All-Bank Inclusion Council, including consistent governance framework and processes.
    • Leads the development, execution, and monitoring of new and existing GO DEI programs/initiatives in collaboration with the GO DEI Council.
    • Identifies and manages the necessary work streams to deliver on the Global Operations DEI strategy and provides guidance and leadership to the respective work stream leads and SVP+ business leaders.
    • Works with the GO DEI Council Strategic Support to plan and execute the GO DEI Council agenda and program of Listen and Educate sessions, ensuring each session results in tangible outcomes
    • Supports Council members and GO senior (SVP+) leadership in cascading key messaging by joining leadership meetings, and/or facilitating working sessions, as required.
    • Provides guidance and support to Council members and Senior leaders across GO in developing bold and actionable representation goals (to achieve DEI goals) and relevant plans and tactics to meet their commitments; creating a culture of inclusion within their teams; and embedding DEI into their individual business plans supported by departmental / area-specific Business DEI Councils where they exist, or are to be established as appropriate, ensuring a structured, strategic, and practical approach to embedding DEI across GO.


  • Leads planning and delivery of EE initiatives that are focused on; alignment to all-Bank and GO strategy (ie. For Every Future, GO PERFORM), professional development, diversity and inclusion, recognition culture, community and social events.


  • Supports the Director, Employee Engagement (EE) to assess, refine and develop GOEE and DE&I Council initiatives and programs to:
    • Drive recognition and inclusion to create more awareness around key topics and drive an inclusive, forward-thinking workplace
    • Ensure a consistent employee experience is delivered virtually and across campuses for on-site engagement events
    • Manage the development of GOEE programs so they are scalable by campus and align to GO and Bank wide priorities. Key areas of focus include performance development, recognition, community involvement, DE&I and social events.
    • Drive a high-performance, inclusive culture. Provide people managers with the tools needed to be more effective managers through programs, resources and information through events and communications.
    • Manage a variety of interconnected engagement programs with cross functional teams to ensure long term strategy goals are met. This includes goal planning, proposals, scoping, budgeting, project planning, regular status updates, and communication between stakeholders
    • Research and incorporate internal and external best practices into annual planning
    • Reviews and refines EE plans presented by the team for virtual events across Canada and onsite events across 8 sites to ensure a consistent employee experience. Responsible for sharing engagement approach with locations out of scope, such as international campuses, to promote a consistent campus experience in Global Operations.


  • Works in coordination with the GO and Campus Communication Teams and Campus Operations teams to deliver a wide range of EE content to support GO business goals and strategic priorities.


  • Evaluates the effectiveness of all EE & GO DE&I Council activities and materials by collecting data and implementing meaningful and actionable key performance metrics to continuously improve programs and drive desired outcomes.


  • Maintains effective relationships with HR Business Partners, the DEI COE and ERG leaders to keep up to date, share best practices and provide input on the tools, resources, and programs available to advance EE and DEI across the Bank


  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.


  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.


  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.


Education / Experience and skills you already have


  • Proven track record as a highly collaborative, organized and results oriented professional who can deepen strategic partnerships and leverage broader Bank stakeholders, systems, and knowledge.
  • Passionate about diversity, equality and inclusion, cultural transformation, and driving organizational change.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant HR, coaching, people management or strategic initiatives experience.
  • Project management experience with ability to implement corporate change strategies in partnership with senior leadership and across functions.
  • Strong business acumen supplemented with the proven ability to build successful and effective relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Proven communication, facilitation, and presentation skills to promote ideas persuasively and effectively, win buy-in for initiatives and work through conflicts to ensure operational alignment and high impact execution.
  • Ability to translate evidence-based strategy into actionable plans that drives the cultural and behavioral
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business/human resources or work-related experience.
  • Previous experience working within a global matrix environment
  • Results-oriented in managing and executing multiple programs simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate and work in partnership with various internal teams and external partners towards common goals
