We are seeking EPM Solution Architects to join our EPM practice. You will be helping clients improve their business and internal finance performance through a focus on providing business advisory services that achieve measurable benefits in operational effectiveness and strategic decision making.

The Opportunity

We help organizations achieve strategic alignment of their finance organization, implement service and cost improvement initiatives, and embed a performance management process and culture that unite the business around its core objectives.

Our EPM team sits within the Finance Performance Improvement practice, which assists clients with:

  • Finance Transformation Strategy & Roadmap
  • Finance Statement Close & Consolidations
  • FP&A, Controlling Excellence & Management Reporting
  • Finance Operating Model Design
  • Finance & Accounting Process Improvement
  • Global Business Services including Shared Service Centers, Outsourcing

As an EPM practitioner, you will either support EPM components of projects in those areas or standalone projects focused on transforming and technology enabling:

  • FP&A and Management Reporting
  • Integrated Business Planning/Supply Chain Planning
  • FP&A Operating Model Design
  • Finance Consolidations
  • Automation of Reconciliations
  • ESG Reporting


Your key responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EPM Systems Implementation Solution Architect with technical experience across multiple EPM systems to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) systems, specifically focused on financial consolidation, planning, budgeting, forecasting, integrated business planning/supply chain planning, reporting, reconciliations, and ESG reporting. You will work closely with clients, business stakeholders, and technical teams to understand requirements, design solutions, configure systems, and deliver successful implementations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in finance, accounting, and EPM systems, along with expertise in financial consolidation, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Collaborating with clients and business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their financial consolidation, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting needs.
  • Designing and constructing end-to-end EPM system solutions that meet client requirements, leveraging industry best practices and the capabilities of EPM software platforms.
  • Leading and guiding the implementation of EPM systems, including project planning, system configuration, data integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Developing and documenting functional and technical specifications, including system designs, data models, process flows, and security requirements.
  • Configuring EPM software platforms, including but not limited to CCH Tagetik, Board, Oracle EPM, Anaplan, OneStream, Oracle Hyperion, SAP SAC, SAP BPC, IBM Cognos TM1, or similar systems.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to develop custom scripts, reports, and data interfaces as required to meet client-specific needs.
  • Conducting system testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, to ensure the solution meets quality standards and functional requirements.
  • Providing guidance and support to clients and end-users during system adoption, including training, user documentation, and ongoing support.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as data integration specialists, business intelligence developers, and infrastructure teams, to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
  • Staying updated with the latest advancements in EPM software platforms and emerging technologies related to financial consolidation, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Assisting in pre-sales activities, including solution demonstrations, proposal development, and client presentations.


To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • A strong academic record including a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years' experience in industry or with a recognized consulting firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (such as Oracle Hyperion Certified Implementation Specialist) are a plus.
  • Proven experience as an EPM Systems Implementation Expert and Solution Architect, with a focus on financial consolidation, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of finance and accounting principles, along with expertise in EPM processes and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of EPM software platforms, such as CCH Tagetik, Board, Oracle EPM, Anaplan, OneStream, Oracle Hyperion, SAP SAC, SAP BPC, IBM Cognos TM1, or similar systems.
  • Experience in designing and implementing end-to-end EPM system solutions, including system configuration, data integration, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in EPM software configuration and administration, including metadata management, dimensionality, consolidation rules, workflow design, and security models.
  • Ability to translate current customer spreadsheet or other financial systems to effective and efficient EPM systems.
  • Deep understanding of accounting processes, including intercompany eliminations, currency translation, allocations, and top-side adjustments.
  • Deep understanding of planning processes, including G&A Planning, HR Planning, Capital Expense Planning, Project Planning, or ESG Planning.
  • Subject matter expertise in Account Reconciliations, Sales Performance Management (e.g. Quota / Territory Planning, Incentive Compensation Management), Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) domains.
  • Familiarity with EPM reporting and analysis tools, such as EPM excel Add-Ins, formatted reports, or similar applications.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
