The Senior Manager - Financial Health Assessment (FHA) reports to the Director & Head - Governance & Optimization, Third Party Risk Management (TPRM). The role assists TPRM's mandate of managing risks associated with third-party arrangements, focusing on developing and implementing FHA policies, processes, and guidelines while ensuring compliance with the Bank and regulatory requirements.
The Senior Manager has a responsibility to maintain an oversight over the Financial Health of the Bank's third-party arrangements portfolio, exercising financial analysis, sound credit judgment, monitoring credit quality, and recommending/approving requests for engagements.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the quality of the TPRM FHA portfolio by ensuring it is efficiently maintained within the Bank's risk appetite and in compliance with FHA's Operating Procedure and TPRM's policies and standards.
- Assess financial statements, obtain and assess risk ratings, and acquire insights from Credit Units when suppliers are also borrowers.
- Monitor portfolio and industry trends, recommending suitable courses of action relative to negative news or concerns.
- Provide constructive feedback to stakeholders such as Contract Owners, Internal Controls, and TPRM's 2nd Lines teams.
- Collaborate with Contract Owners to ensure required information for Financial Health Assessment is obtained and recommend alternative avenues to assess the Financial Health.
- Ensure turnaround time meets TPRM's guidelines.
- Assist the creation of an environment where change is covered positively.
- Contribute to the team's culture through leadership, coaching, and mentorship.
- Actively contribute to judicious priorities and initiatives of TPRM and FHA.
- Build effective relationships with Contract Owners, Internal Controls, Control Functions, TPRM's 2nd lines, Governance, Technology teams, Enterprise Risk, Compliance, and Audit.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Post-Secondary Education completed, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related experience.
- MBA, CFA, or CA designation preferred with a minimum of 3 years of progressive credit risk experience in Business Banking.
- In-depth knowledge of credit risk policies and processes, the Bank's risk management policies, procedures, tools, and audit disciplines.
- Skilled in financial analysis, developing sound recommendations, and credit judgment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and problem resolution skills.
- Strong judicious influencing and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Current awareness of regulatory and best practice developments related to Third-Party Risk.
