Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity for a Product Designer to play an integral role supporting the development of a global online banking platform for small business, corporate and commercial customers.

The incumbent is responsible for continuous and early delivery of business value. They will play a key role in every part of the development process for the banks online business banking platforms, from research, to conception, to UI/UX design and user testing. The Global Product Designer will be expected to represent the voice of the customer, enable peers and tirelessly advocate for the vision and customer experience they've been entrusted with.

In fulfilling the role, the incumbent will be supporting the creation of a Global Product. This will require them to work independently and as part of a cross-functional global team, focusing on the North American Corridor (USA focused but also working closely with Canada and Mexico) and also working with partners across the rest of the Bank's international footprint. The incumbent will work closely with key internal partners (e.g., Technology, Security, Control Functions and other business partners) and external partners such as third-party vendors, suppliers and consultants as needed to lead, co-lead and/or support the development of this platform

What You'll Do:
Define the target customer experience, leveraging market intelligence and user centric design principles and ensure the prioritization of this throughout the build process:

  • Understanding current market research and tracking of global trends, competitor offerings and understanding market requirements
  • Maintaining lines of communication with delivery network, partners and customers about needs, competitive opportunities and trends.
  • Maintaining active participation in strategic conversations about customer experience in the business banking space

Support the development and execution strategic business plans for the global platform:

  • Produce compelling designs to illustrate concepts iteratively through sketches, site maps, conceptual diagrams, user flows, wireframes, high fidelity mock-ups and prototypes
  • Usage of industry-standard tools for design and prototyping (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite etc.)
  • Exercise a high level of technical acuity with a thorough understanding of front-end technologies and factor it into your work limitations and constraints, knowing when to push boundaries
  • Greatly influence the design decisions for digital experiences that touch thousands of users every day
  • Envision multiple alternative patterns and options to solve a single design problem
  • Hold the product output to a high standard
  • Keep up and experiment with new design trends
  • Demonstrate strong presentation design and/or visualization skills
  • Be open to feedback as an important aspect of getting to your best work
  • Have an interest in data and how it can improve your design
  • Provide detailed specifications for software developers
  • Advocate for accessible and responsive design principles and implementation
  • Continuously validate assumptions by facilitating research / testing sessions with a wide variety of customers / personas

Provide strong team leadership to motivate the program teams and ensure the achievement of agreed upon performance metrics by:

  • Fostering and developing a strong, positive team environment, driving individual contributor and team empowerment, innovation and a high degree of engagement
  • Sharing knowledge, experience and responsibility with technology teams in a drive for the highest standards of professionalism and service excellence
  • Ensuring all team members are aware of the rationale as to why we are taking certain design decisions and the associated customer impact / feedback received
  • Creating an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct


What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in design (or another relevant field)
  • 5+ years' experience focusing on UX/UI Design, preferably within the Financial Services industry
  • Experience working on large technology projects using industry-standard delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile/Scrum/Kanban), participating in ceremonies, providing input for backlog/release plans
  • Usage of industry-standard tools for design and prototyping (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills are required (English required, Spanish is nice to have but not required)
  • A demonstrated portfolio of work (personal and professional) which showcases the projects you have worked on
  • Strong decision making, forward thinking and creative problem-solving skills to anticipate and respond quickly to technological/market influences.
  • Be results oriented and innovative in identifying and pursuing opportunities to leverage capabilities to increase revenues, decrease costs and mitigate risks.

Work Arrangement:

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel within North America, on occasion, with advance notice provided.
