The opportunity
The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting will own all monthly and quarterly accounting processes for Canada revenues including delivering close results accurately and timely. The position will support all quarterly and annual audit requirements. He or she will develop, promote and maintain a strong control environment and will report directly to the Controller. This role will participate in and support forecasting and budgeting processes specifically focused on all aspects of Gross to Net estimates and liabilities for existing and future products. In addition to key accounting deliverables, this role will also develop the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations of daily revenue reporting and supporting commercial management requests needed to properly evaluate product profitability.
How you'll spend your day
- Execution of all accounting close activities including the review of new contracts, complex account reconciliations, quarterly analytics and controls
- Develop recommendations for accounting application of all existing and new customer revenue generating contracts
- Development and execution of all sales reserves for the Canadian business including but not limited to:
- Returns reserve.
- Chargeback reserve
- Early Payment Terms
- Ensure a formalized month and quarter end review process of all revenue related reserves
- Support continuous improvement of the efficiency and accuracy of internal reporting measures including daily scorecard/flash, monthly/quarterly revenue analytics reporting, profitability reporting
- Primary contact for financial planning leads in providing forecasted and actual data related to gross to net reserves.
- Identify and develop tracking tool of all relevant revenue generating contracts ensuring accuracy in revenue reporting
- Support external reporting and audit requirements
- Support internal reporting and internal audit requirements
- Support internal business requests for product performance analytics
- Support monthly receivables factoring activities
- Develop tools to drive efficiency and promote scalability as it relates to issue identification and resolution in day to day operations of internal reporting
- Expand the use of and engagement in reporting tools to improve efficiency
- Other duties and ad hoc requests as assigned
Your experience and qualifications
- Required: Bachelor Degree in Finance or similar; CPA preferred
- 5 Years Progressive Experience
- US GAAP , Gross to Net Knowledge
- SAP, Vistex (or other revenue models), Strong working knowledge of excel and capability to handle complex files
- Thorough knowledge of technical accounting and US GAAP application
- Thorough understanding of Revenue Accounting
- Capability to handle a high volume of transactions
- Strong collaboration and organizations skills
- Pharmaceutical knowledge a strong asset
