What is the opportunity?
In the role of Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives you will lead Strategic Initiatives across Cards and Merchant Acquiring with a particular focus on providing a business lens on upcoming contract negotiations, optimizing payment network costs and relationships, and implementation of key Strategic Initiatives impacting both issuing and acquiring side of the business.
What will you do?
- Lead / negotiate / facilitate and/or participate in vendor and payment network discussions: conduct research, develop and compare options, recommend business opportunities across Cards and Merchant Acquiring
- Produce written proposals and supporting artefacts to socialize results of due diligence and recommendations
- Conduct due diligence to include assessments of financial statements, legal contracts and controls effectiveness for items impacting Cards and Merchant Acquiring
- Collaborate with colleagues across Cards ecosystem to ensure alignment
- Keep abreast of industry issues impacting Cards and Merchant Acquiring and proactively share to the broader team
- Produce risk assessments, business cases and proposals as required
- Lead payment network relationships and recommend and implement cost optimization initiatives and opportunities
- Use data-driven insights to conduct opportunity spotting and sizing; recommend and develop prospective opportunities specific to Cards and Merchant Acquiring
- Identify and recommend cost optimization opportunities
- Keep abreast of network mandates and changes impacting Cards and Merchant Acquiring and proactively share to the broader team
- Measure and document cost savings driven by the cost optimization initiatives
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
- University Degree and extensive related work experience
- Ability to understand the bigger picture and build steps to solve complex problems
- Effectively share ideas and capture the attention of your audience through different tools and tactics
- Tackle complex business problems through strategy development, challenge processes and enhance business performance.
- Enhanced business and financial knowledge in order to make better decisions.
