Job purpose
At Egger Truck, we offer our customers a wide variety of services for all makes and models whether it is a tractor, implement or truck. A Service Manager performs a variety of duties including; customer service, promoting and sale of services, booking and scheduling jobs to ensure efficient and profitable operation of the service department. The Service Manager maintains a respectful demeanor while working with the team and with our customers.
Duties and responsibilities
- Work with service staff developing skills in customer service.
- Liaisons with customer to complete work as requested and follow up on any issues.
- Ensure the service department is kept clean and orderly.
- Ensure service technicians receive parts as required.
- Ensure prescribed cash, credit and check processing procedures of the dealership.
- Use dealership equipment and resources safely and proficiently
- Adhere and actively participate in the Health & Safety program, policies and procedures
- Organize training as required by management to maintain proficiency in his/her job description.
- Delegate sundry duties as required by the owner(s).
- Schedule breaks and holidays for service department staff *see spring season note*
- Meeting with customers and suppliers; building relationships and networking.
- Attend monthly manager meeting.
- Set goals and sales targets for service department.
Qualifications
- Valid class “G” license
- Fork Truck Operators certification; training available on-site.
- Exceptional customer service skills, written and verbal.
- Computer skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Minimum 1 year of management experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year of service department experience preferred
Working Conditions
This job may require you to work indoors, outdoors and off-site as you may have to leave the dealership to pick up parts, vehicles or assist technicians. The Service Manager is expected to be on call after hours for emergency break downs.
*Spring Season:
The Service Manager is expected to not take or schedule holidays for all service staff between April 1st and June 30th. Any exceptions during these months must be approved by owner(s). This is Egger Truck’s busiest time of year and it requires all resources available.
Physical requirements
This job requires physical activity, bending, kneeling, reaching, and moderate to heavy lifting.

Salary: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
