Service Manager - Heavy Equipment

Our high-growth business is seeking an experienced Heavy EquipmentService Manager to join Burt’s Heavy Duty team. This position will be reserved for a person who takes pride in their work and who is detail oriented and driven with strong leadership skills.

Service Manager direct the maintenance workforce and provide expertise to ensure tasks are completed to Burt’s Heavy Duty Inc. standards of quality, safety and efficiency. We are seeking an individual who is dedicated to safety and are responsible for guiding and mentoring our technicians, planning and managing workloads and creating efficiencies. An excellent Maintenance Supervisor will:

The Job

As a Heavy EquipmentService Manager, you will be expected to:

• Adhere to, promote and enforce all company, contractual, legislated and client safety initiatives
• Supervise all maintenance and repairs of Burt’s Heavy Duty equipment/fleet to ensure they are completed on time and on budget
• Delegate repairs and maintenance according to priorities
• Ensure care and consideration is given to all assets including service vehicles, tooling, property and shop
• Manage, motivate, develop and provide direct leadership, mentorship and coaching to technicians
• Manage work orders, including back charges
• Working knowledge of FullBay

What We Need From YOU:

• A desire to make a difference and take pride in your work
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician with a minimum of 2 years at a Lead Hand level
• Experience with dozers, haul trucks, shovels and excavators of all major brands such as CAT, John Deere, Hitachi, Komatsu, dump trucks, tarp systems, tractor trailers
• Superior leadership skills to successfully mentor and guide your team in a healthy, positive and safe working environment
• Experience working with budgets
• Superior mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
• Strong ethics and compliance to rules and regulations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs.
• Excellent Customer Service skills

• AZ or DZ license (min. 3 yrs)
• Competently operate all Heavy Equipment
