The position is acting in the Service department of Real Tech that has been recently acquired by ABB, and is based in Whitby, Ontario. The Service Technician executes service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines, and delivers quality customer service to satisfy customers.
Your responsibilities
- Provide exceptional and professional service to our global client base, primarily by email and telephone, to ensure proper functioning of quality control equipment.
- Displays clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in their own area of responsibility.
- Work with a wide variety of electronic and microcomputer devices used to measure flow, temperature, and chemical composition of water.
- Use electrical and electronic testing devices to inspect and test instrument and system operation and diagnose potential faults.
- Collaborate with team to solve complex problems.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of customer interactions, claims, and resolutions for reporting and analysis purposes in company CRM.
- Communicate effectively, breaking down complex details into easy step-by-step instructions for correcting technological issues.
- Provide client–centered training sessions for new hardware or software products, as needed.
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, and effectively.
- Exceed customer expectations by understanding and anticipating current and potential needs.
- Occasional on-site visits may be required at client sites.
Your background
- 2 or more years of experience in Electronics/Electromechanical technician/technology.
- Proven ability to read circuit diagrams and mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Advanced level ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) information to varying levels within the organization.
- Advanced level of ability to use Microsoft Office products.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Be an adaptable team player.
- Ability to travel in Canada and out of the country.
